Shape this journey Example route Days 1–2 Arrive in Durban and head to Umhlanga, where you will stay at the Beverley Hills Hotel with direct beach access. Unwind by the pool, explore on a Segway or take a relaxing walk along the promenade.
Days 3–5 Depart Umhlanga for the Drakensberg Mountains and spend three nights at Three Tree Hill Lodge. Visit a local village, explore the central Drakensberg, see the site of the Battle of Spioenkop or simply relax at the lodge and enjoy the views.
Days 6–7 Head to the historic Battlefields and stay at Fugitives’ Drift Lodge. Visit the museum and library or join guided battlefield tours to Isandlwana, Rorke’s Drift, the graves of Melvill and Coghill, and Blood River.
Days 8–9 Continue to Thanda Private Game Reserve for two daily wildlife safaris in open vehicles, with the option of a guided bush walk, time by the lodge pool or a day trip to see the hippos in the St Lucia Estuary.
Day 10 Depart Thanda Private Game Reserve and travel to King Shaka International Airport for your flight home.
